Marja took part in region 8 tournament 2008.

On an invitation of a good friend Marja Dijkstra from Jip Kye Sohn took part in the Region 8 tournament in October 2008 in Scranton, PA, USA.
About 700 Tang Soo Do ka's from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Maryland in America took part.
It was wonderful to take part again in such a big tournament: almost twice as big as the European Championships.
After taking part for the First time at such a big event at the World Championships in Florida in July, now a tournament with about 700 contenders: Wow! What an honor to be able to take part in it. It's wonderful to enjoy the warm American hospitality again in such a short time and to meet some of my friends again.
I was asked to join at the head table and was privileged to speak with Grandmaster Shin for a while.
The tournament run perfectly and not without result: 2nd place on weapons and 3thd place on sparring.

Afterwards I have spent a few wonderful days in Philadelphia and was privileged to take part in a training session with Master Melchiorre.
